Raphaera Kuabe Atekaze, alias Rapha is a Belgian-Congolese singer and songwriter based in Antwerp, Belgium. Born in 2001, Rapha was deeply rooted in music from an early age and has keenly nurtured her talent to build a successful career in music.
Raphaera’s music career journey has been a consistent upward curve with diverse sounds. At the age of 11, she joined the musical theater and started honing her songwriting and singing skills. A year later, Rapha burst into the scene when she got her first ever solo. She went ahead to perform for four years and always naturally exceeded her trainers’ and audiences’ expectations.
Being a young musician and already making waves, Rapha was unsure whether to pursue music professionally. Nevertheless, in 2019, she registered with Fabric Magic, where she sang in a choir. Fabric Magic presented an opportunity for her to sharpen her music skills and take her career a notch higher. After a year in the choir, Rapha emerged winner in the MNM rising star competition held in early 2020, and from that encounter, she gathered the much-needed courage to go solo into an unknown career path in the music world. In the summer of 2021, she bought a Ukulele and began writing her own songs.
Inspired by the likes of Alessia Cara, Mini Webb, Dua Lipa, and Alicia Keys, Rapha believes music isn’t really about the ceremony or pomp but rather a channel to pass meaningful messages about love, friendships, break ups and mental health.
Rapha has established herself as an excellent and reputable song architect and singer within Belgium’s burgeoning music scene. She hopes to create more meaningful melodies that resonate with her fans and, most importantly, appeal to a worldwide audience.
